Mushrooms are truly a great friend to all red wine, but most especially when seasoned with Winemaker’s Pantry™ Spice Pairing for Pinot Noir. Their earthy flavor brings out the rich complexity of the blend, enhanced by its woody notes of juniper and rosemary, and undertones of allspice and espresso. This quick mushroom sauté is a perfect crostini topping for entertaining when served with your favorite Pinot Noir…or use it to crown a thick ribeye or filet mignon steak.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup shallot, minced
- ½ stick butter
- 1 pint cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbs heavy cream
- 1 tbs chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tbs Winemaker’s Pantry™ Spice Pairing for Pinot Noir
Directions
Sauté shallots and mushrooms over medium heat for 3 minutes.
Add the Winemaker’s Pantry™ Spice Pairing for Cabernet and the cream. Continue to sauté for another 3 minutes.
For an easy entertaining bite: Use to top toasted crostini bread, garnish with parsley and serve!
