2006 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2006 vintage in the Napa Valley decidedly reminds one more of Marilyn Monroe than Audrey Hepburn. This warm year produced rich, round wines that display their obvious and voluptuous charms from the very first sip.
Yet, as with all great vineyards, the Ink Grade Vineyard gave us fruit that still enabled us to craft a wine with refinement, elegance and grace. As noted by James Laube in The Wine Spectator: 91 points - “A subtle, delicate style, especially for Howell Mountain, showcasing the loamy earth, mineral, dried currant, tobacco and herbal sage notes. Full-bodied and well-balanced, ending with firmer tannins and a dash of anise. Drink now through 2018.”
